Wow, Its been a wile since I have posted. You may think that I am a lazy sod and blowing off my blog but that's not the case at all! I have been busy with my youngest sister's wedding, cat being ill, getting myself healthy, gathering recipes and testing them on friends, and most of all, taking some seminars on how to start my own business. I don't think I will have a shop anytime soon but I was thinking about something out of my home.
Why are you doing all of this you ask? Well to put it simply its my back up plan. My company is being "acquired" by another and I am in a support roll so I want to have a back up plan if they say "No Thanks" I don't want to scramble around and hope for the best. The economy is still tanked but I am hoping to do is to have a few clients that I bake for their shop a few days a week. You know that type of thing. I have a few local shops I am interested in and I hope it will pan out for myself and my family. It would be cool if I could have a shop and create a family run business. I know it would be hard to heir the right family members and the idea that I will be responsible for health insurance and wages kind of scares me.
On May 22, 2011 my youngest sister Samantha will be married! It makes me feel like the spinster aunt with the house full of cats (don't worry I only have 2) So being a foodie that I am, I wonder what they are gonna have food wise for the wedding. She still hasn't released any details except for a candy bar (gotta save my WW points for that!) So I will fly up to Maine to be with my Family on this joyous occasion and of course have a lobster or two while I am up there. I have not seen my family since last October when we flew up to Chicago for my Grandfather's Surprise Birthday Party and I haven't seen my Dad since I have moved down to Florida four years ago or so. Excited is an understatement. While I am there, I hope to bring some of the Florida recipes up there.
