I found this "yogurt" when I was shopping at Whole Foods this weekend. I thought "What in the world?, wonder what this taste like" So I bought a cup in order to review the product. I will review this product on taste, texture, and price. So with that being said let the review commence!
The Taste of this Strawberry Banana Soy Yogurt was surprisingly good. I found it really sweet at first but then when you give it a good mix it is very tasty. When I was a kid I used to ask my mom to buy me banana baby food. I really enjoyed the banana flavor and this yogurt captures that childhood memory for me. The banana flavor really comes through in this yogurt. I find that in other yogurt brands the banana taste is not present as it is in this yogurt. So with this being said Silk gets an A+
The texture of this yogurt is pretty similar to the dairy yogurts. I did find it was thicker than most of the yogurts on the market. However this did not negatively impact the enjoyment I found while eating this yogurt. I really couldn't stop eating it! It gave me more satisfaction that typical yogurts. Again Silk gets an A+
My only two concerns is the packaging and the price of the yogurt. First let's address the packaging. My biggest concern is the way they designed the label, especially pertaining to the yogurt. The packaging shows the yogurt to be a pretty pink, typical in most strawberry yogurts. HOWEVER this yogurt is not pink, its not even close it is a murky grey color. Not very appetizing at all especially for those who eat with their eyes first. I was disappointed to see the color was so off in comparison. The price of the yogurt was higher than what I am used to averaging 1.35 for one. I would get this yogurt if it was on sale but this is not going into my basket on a weekly bases. C-
Bottom line, this yogurt is tasty and has a nice texture to it. I find for a yogurt with 150 calories 2 grams of Fat and 4 grams of protein this was a great non dairy option! Try one for yourself.
